Jignisha Shah wanted a career that allowed her to combine her interest in science with being able to interact with people. She chose to become a pharmacist. When a doctor decides that a certain medicine will help cure someone's illness, Jignisha is allowed to give the patient the medicine. Before she hands it over, though, she makes sure the medicine will be safe to use in combination with other drugs the patient might be taking. She also tells the patients if they can expect any side effects. For example, taking pain medicine like ibuprofen without eating food at the same can lead to an ulcer if the medicine is taken for more than a few weeks.
Sometimes, people come to Jignisha's pharmacy and reveal lots of personal information. One person told her about finding lice in her hair and another showed her red, oozing spots on his arm. Jignisha often offers them recommendations, but tells them that only a medical doctor can give an actual diagnosis of the condition. In addition to helping others get healthy, Jignisha also loves to travel, take long walks in nature, and dance to hip-hop.
